PSA: Schmetterling
Schmetterling is a political satire PSA, inspired by language and typography, illustrating the prejudice and assumptions people form based-on the way we are perceived with our imagination.
CHALLENGE
Current political, social, and culture issues have been a passive aggressive language among our daily lives. Cultures are defined by people’s perception and feelings. Political issues are often not the topic that people discuss due to awkwardness and social courtesy. How can we make it a personal discussion without being forceful?SOLUTION
"Schmetterlings are dangerous and this is why." Schmetterling is a political PSA containing voice of reason and voice of chaos describing the mystical creature in a satire way. Voice of chaos started off as “They look and sound different, it’s disgusting” symbolizing a lot of people think about another culture as disgusting just because they look and sound different. The dry and monotone voice of reason is suppose to make the voice of chaos seems ridiculous and unnecessary. The whole piece dives in deeper into butterfly’s world revealing the more you question, the more you will understand. In the end, the mystical scary creature, schmetterling, just means a beautiful butterfly.CREDITS
